After a whirlwind weekend of regionals action, the field of 64 has been whittled down to 16 teams that will play best-of-three series’ throughout the country. To get you ready, here are detailed super regional team previews with projected lineups, pitcher usage, and key performers from the first round.

Knoxville Super Regional

Evansville (38-24) at No. 1 Tennessee (53-11)
Friday-Sunday: 3 p.m. (ESPN2), 11 a.m. (ESPN2), 6 p.m. (ESPNU)

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — Cal Stark went deep three times — all three of his hits — and drove in five. Billy Amick, Dean Curley, and Dylan Dreiling all added two home runs apiece as the Volunteers clubbed 12 in three days. Dreiling went 7-for-13 with 15 total bases over the weekend.

Pitchers — AJ Causey was great, striking out nine over six-plus innings while allowing two runs. Nate Snead tossed four-plus scoreless innings out of the bullpen while the likes of Andrew Behnke, Aaron Combs, and Kirby Connell all had good outings.

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — Kip Fougerousse was a man on fire: Four home runs, seven RBIs, seven runs scored. Mark Shallenberger added a pair of home runs as well, including one that proved decisive. Brent Widder went 7-for-14 with a homer and six RBIs.

Pitchers — Kenton Deverman had the start of a lifetime against East Carolina, allowing one run over eight innings with four strikeouts. Shane Harris was leaned on for three appearances and logged two saves. Max Hansmann tossed four scoreless as well.

Tallahassee Super Regional

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — Cam Smith and Max Williams both hit two home runs apiece, while Marco Dinges had a 7-for-14 weekend with two RBIs. James Tibbs III drew six walks in what was a hitless weekend for him as teams avoided him.

Pitchers — A somewhat surprising move to throw Carson Dorsey first paid off as he went eight-plus innings and allowed two runs while striking out seven. Jamie Arnold was his typical self on Saturday, fanning 12 over seven innings of two-run ball. Brennen Oxford made two scoreless appearances, struck out five, and logged a save.

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — Korey Morton paced the offense, going 9-for-16 with two doubles, a home run, and six RBIs. Luke Broadhurst drove in five runs while Tyler Minick went deep twice (and was second on the team in total bases, at 11).

Pitchers — Gabe Van Emon stepped up when the team needed him most, turning in seven-plus innings in the winner-takes-all seventh game. Van Emon has had his struggles this year but was fantastic. Stephen Quigley, who closed out the win, turned in eight innings against Oklahoma the first time around.

Charlottesville Super Regional

Hitters — Eight players had multi-hit weekends and the Cavaliers spread the wealth. Henry Godbout surprisingly hit the only home run of the regional for Virginia, while Jacob Ference went 4-for-10 with a double. Eric Becker, who played in two games, led the team with four RBIs.

Pitchers — The Cavaliers only needed to use six pitchers over the weekend, aided by great starts from Jay Woolfolk (8 IP, 2 R , 7 K) and Joe Savino (5.2 IP, 2 R, 8 K). Chase Hungate was great out of the bullpen (4.1 IP, 0 R, 4 K) and logged a save.

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — What more can you say about Kaelen Culpepper? He hit for the cycle against Louisiana Tech and finished the weekend 7-for-12 with two home runs and seven RBIs. Chuck Ingram went 7-for-11 with two long balls as well, driving in six.

Pitchers — Two appearances, two wins in relief for Cole Wisenbaker as he threw nearly four scoreless innings. Ty Ruhl (4 IP, 5 K) and Jackson Wentworth (5.2 IP, 2 R, 3 K) both had strong outings.

Chapel Hill Super Regional

West Virginia (36-22) at No. 4 North Carolina (45-14)

Hitters — Freshman third baseman Gavin Gallaher walked it off in the opener and finished his weekend with two home runs and seven RBIs. Vance Honeycutt only had three hits, but two were home runs. Anthony Donofrio had a strong weekend, going 9-for-17 with four RBIs. Alex Madera was the hero in the finale.

Pitchers — Scott Forbes has his arms he trusts out of the bullpen, headlined by Dalton Pence (8.1 IP, 2 R, 10 K). Pence was called on three times, while Matthew Matthijs (6.1 IP, 1 R, 4 K) made two appearances as well. Shea Sprague had a solid start (4.1 IP, 3 K).

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — Logan Sauve went 6-for-13 with a home run, the Mountaineers lone one of the regional, and drove in six. Reed Chumley, Sam White, and Grant Hussey all had four hits with Chumley swiping two bags to go along with them.

Pitchers — Derek Clark (9.2 IP, R, 10 K) was dynamic in the opener, throwing a complete game, and came back to close out Grand Canyon in the clincher. Tyler Switalski threw a gem against the Lopes (7.2 IP, 1 R, 3 K) while Carson Estridge was the top relief arm and logged a save.

Lexington Super Regional

No. 15 Oregon St. (45-14) at No. 2 Kentucky (43-14)

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — James McCoy had four hits — and three went for extra bases — as he doubled twice and homered. Ryan Nicholson went deep twice, Ryan Waldschmidt matched him and Émilien Pitre with four RBIs, and Mitchell Daly swiped a pair of bases.

Pitchers — You can’t ask for much more from a pair of starters then what the Wildcats’ got in the last two games: Trey Pooser (7 IP, 1 R, 7 K) and Mason Moore (6 IP, 6 K) made things easy for Kentucky to advance. Cameron O’Brien struck out seven in three-plus innings across two relief appearances while Robert Hogan and Ryan Hagenow both logged saves.

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — Travis Bazzana paced the lineup with two home runs, but it was Elijah Hainline who went 6-for-12 with a double, triple, and home run along with a team-high five runs scored. Micah McDowell had eight hits in three games while the Beavers got home runs from Mason Guerra, Dallas Macias, and Gavin Turley as well. Turley finished with a team-high five RBIs.

Pitchers — Jacob Kmatz led the way with seven innings of one-run ball, striking out nine. Nelson Keljo turned in two scoreless outings (4.2 IP, 7 K) while Bridger Holmes pitched in all three games (3 IP, 4 K) and didn’t allow a run while logging a save.

Hitters — Charlie Condon was up to his usual tricks: Five hits, a home run, five walks, zero strikeouts. Slate Alford drove in four with a pair of doubles while Corey Collins got on base seven times. Kolby Branch led the team in RBIs (5) and home runs (2) in a 3-for-14 weekend.

Pitchers — 11 different arms threw for the Bulldogs over the weekend to mixed results. Christian Mracna (2.1 IP, 5 K) was good over two outings, while DJ Radtke, Daniel Padysak, and Josh Roberge all threw two scoreless innings in relief.

Hitters — Garrett Pennington went 5-for-13 with two doubles, two home runs, and three RBIs. Alec Makarweicz added a similarly extra-base heavy line as he finished 6-for-14 with four doubles, a home run, and a team-high five RBIs.

Pitchers — Jacob Dudan was overpowering in relief: 5 IP, 1 R, 10 K and a save over two appearances. Logan Whitaker (6 IP, 2 R, 6 K) and Sam Highfill (6 IP, 2 R, 4 K) both turned in quality starts. Derrick Smith (2.2 IP, 6 K) logged a pair of saves as well.

Hitters — Jacob Hinderleider racked up nine hits in three days, scoring three runs and chipping in two doubles. Cam Cannarella and Jimmy Obertop both homered, the former driving in five runs. Aiden Mathes scored six runs as he reached base in a variety of ways.

Pitchers — Austin Gordon featured in all three games and didn’t allow a hit: He picked up a win and two saves with four strikeouts over three-plus innings. Tristan Smith (5.1 IP, 3 R, 9 K) and Aidan Knaak (6 IP, 2 R, 6 K) had solid starts.

Hitters — Two home runs and seven walks for Jac Caglianone — and most surprisingly, three doubles. Ashton Wilson continued to be a revelation, going 9-for-21 with three doubles, a home run, and six RBIs. Colby Shelton homered twice and drove in seven.

Pitchers — Brandon Neely was lights out with eight innings of scoreless work, piling up 12 strikeouts. Fisher Jameson (5.1 IP, 2 R, 5 K) pitched in three games, while Liam Peterson (5.1 IP, 2 R, 7 K) had a good start.

Oregon (40-18) at No. 3 Texas A&M (47-13)

Hitters — Braden Montgomery drove in five and homered as the Aggies methodically took care of business. Caden Sorrell went deep twice — both his hits on the weekend — while Ted Burton had a pair of doubles.

Pitchers — The Aggies only gave up six runs in three games thanks to the likes of Shane Sdao (5.1 IP, R, 6 K), Evan Ashenbeck (4.2 IP, K), and Ryan Prager (6.1 IP, 2 R, 7 K). Chris Cortez (2.2 IP, 6 K) is a weapon out of the bullpen.

Oregon

Regional Top Performers

Hitters — Pitching was the name of the game for the Ducks, but they still got a 5-for-10 weekend with two extra base hits and four RBIs from Carter Garate. Bryce Boettcher and Jacob Walsh both homered over the weekend.

Pitchers — It doesn’t get better than what Kevin Seitter did — a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts. Grayson Grinsell (7 IP, 9 K) and RJ Gordon (7 IP, 3 R, 3 K) were also excellent in the rotation. Logan Mercado tossed four scoreless out of the bullpen as well.
